Basic DirtBike School:
DirtBike School students learn basic techniques for riding off-highway motorcycles, beginning with four to six hours of Closed Range Exercises where lessons are presented in a controlled riding area free of ruts, rocks and other obstacles. As students progress on the Closed Range Exercises, they learn to ride in tight circles, make quick and sharp turns, and how to ride on hills. In addition to learning new skills, students discuss responsible riding practices, including risk management and environmental awareness. At the end of the school, students should have a solid understanding of the techniques an off-highway rider must use to stay safe, act responsibly and, most importantly, have fun.
Age requirements: Participants as young as six years of age are allowed, with direct parental supervision and the ability to balance a bicycle. More than 50 percent of DirtBike School participants are youth age 16 and younger. Family classes are available upon special request. This is also an opportunity for adults to be introduced to off-highway motorcycle riding. In many cases, they find it's an excellent first step toward taking the MSF Basic RiderCourse for street motorcycle rider training.
MSF Intro to Trail Riding:
This course is designed for the more advanced dirt rider. Before entering the Trail Riding course you should have some riding experience. There are two options for the Trail Riding course:
Option One: Introduction to Trail Riding held in Random Lake using various trail sections and terrain on the site's dirt trails and motocross track.
Option Two: For the rider with a bit more experience the Trail Riding class can be held on state or county forestry land in various locations in Wisconsin. Bring your camping gear and enjoy a true trail riding experience, or motels are available as well.
The Intro to Trail Riding class is $250 and you will need your own motorcycle. Lodging and meals are extra.
